MATHEMATICS 01 (MATH01)

Content:

This course covers work on number, measurement, statistics & probability, graphs, statistics and expressions and equations.

NZQA Internal Assessment:

US 8489 (v4) Number - 2 credits
US 8490 (v4) Number - 2 credits
US 8491 (v4) Statistics - 2 credits
US 5224 (v5) Number - 2 credits
Probability will be taught but not assessed until semester 2

Prerequisites:

Nil

Stationery:

2 x1E5 Exercise Book, Ruler, Compass, Protractor, Calculator (Casio FX82. If thinking of renewing then the Casio 9750G Plus is recommended) Students without a calculator are severely disadvantaged.


MATHEMATICS 02 (MATH02)

Content:

This course covers algebra, algebraic graphs, Pythagoras, trogonometry and angle geometry.

US 5223 (v3) Expressions and equations - 2 credits
US 5232 (v4) Probability - 2 credits

Nil

This course covers practical and useful mathematics for students who struggle with many of the basic mathematical concepts and techniques. This semester covers work on number and measurement.
