RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 11/12 - RELG1(12)

Content:

This course covers the following topics:

• Understanding the New Testament – The Gospel Story
• The Trinity
• Conscience, Morality & Values

The course provides students with the opportunity to confront and cope with the challenge of accepting responsibility for their personal lives.

NZQA Internal Assessment:

AS 90816 (v1) Describe key features of a sacred text - 6 credits
AS 90819 (v1) Describe key beliefs of a religious tradition - 6 credits
AS 90818 (v1) Describe key ethical principles of a religios tradition and how they are applied to an issue - 6 credits

RELG01 and RELG02

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 21/22 (RELG2(12))

Content:

This course covers the following topics:

• Loss, Death and Grief
• Justice and Peace
• Biblical Studies

Students will have the opportunity to reflect on:

• Their own spiritual journey while examining the significances of a key belief within 2 religious traditions.
• Developing an appreciation of social justice while examining a contemporary issue.
• The general background of Scripture with an opportunity for detailed study of particular books of the New Testament.

LITURGY LEADERSHIP 23 (RELG23)

Content:

This is a practical course for those wanting to learn more about liturgy. There is an opportunity to become involved in Sunday Masses and College liturgies. Students are expected to lead public prayer, present yourself as a leader in a worship service, read aloud from the bible and be involved with music for liturgy.

Prerequisites:

Nil. This course is open to all students in Years 11, 12 and 13.
