Students will prepare cash journals, ledger accounts, the trial balance and understand how GST is dealt with in this respect. In this semester students will learn how to prepare and interpret the financial statements of a sole proprietor. As well as this, students will learn how to apply the concepts learned during Semester One to ensure the financial statements show a 'true and fair view' of the financial state of the business. Students will therefore learn how to account for balance day adjustments. Finally, students will develop their ability to interpret, analyse and report on the financial statements of the business, so effective decisions can be made.NZQA External Assessment:

Students will learn how to illustrate these decisions using the demand and supply model.
