SPECIAL CHARACTER & CHARISM

At Campion College we place a strong focus on the Gospel values of Jesus Christ.  In particular, we emphasise the values of commitment, compassion and community.  These three values were exemplified by our founding Saints, Edmund Campion, Mary MacKillop and Marcellin Champagnat.  They are the cornerstone for the way we aim to live our lives.

Commitment
We are committed to teaching all students holistically - catering for their intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical growth.  As part of this commitment we strive to be the best we can be.  We also have the same expectation of our students; to develop the total person to their full potential.  In developing this commitment we help foster self-discipline and time management skills through both classroom activities and the setting of regular homework.  We believe that this also helps manage a successful transition into the senior secondary school system.

Compassion
Despite all the changes in education, there is nothing that will ever replace the educational value of a school providing fair discipline, giving personalised attention to all students and staffed by people committed to working within a caring Christian environment.  We are committed to working with students in a compassionate way.  We also foster in our students, a compassionate approach to others.

Community
At Campion College we recognise that parents are the first educators of their children.  We aim to work in partnership with you the parents to provide the most appropriate support and encouragement to help foster your child’s development.  We also invite you to strengthen that partnership through a range of support groups and the opportunity to meet regularly with teachers.  We also encourage our students to recognise their place in the wider community and the international global village.

CHRIST
Christ is the foundation of our existence and the Catholic faith is of primary importance at Campion College.  Our faith commitment is an integral part of the College and is celebrated and nourished through the liturgical and formal religious education programme.  As a way of developing this understanding, all classes have three periods a week of Religious Education as they progress through the College.

“In Christ we are alive” is the motto of Campion College and this is echoed throughout every facet of an environment.  As a Catholic College we endeavour to make God real for all who come within our sphere of influence.  Jesus is central to our spirituality.”
